So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installing SharePoint 2010 Prerequisites
After the pre-upgrade check tool has run and you have remediated any potential noncompliant features, the first step toward upgrading a SharePoint 2007 environment is to install all those components that SharePoint 2010 requires as prerequisites. These components can be easily installed using the SharePoint 2010 media. When inserting the media, the autorun screen prompts for an option to install prerequisites. These install all necessary components that SharePoint 2010 requires directly on the box running SharePoint 2010.
