It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Selecting the Startup Mode for the WebLogic Domain
You can start the WebLogic domain in either of two modes—development or production. Development mode doesn't involve a strict configuration of the domain, whereas production mode requires a more rigorous configuration of security.
