Backing Up a Domain's config.xml File

By default, WebLogic Server backs up the critical config.xml file and renames it to a different name, such as backup_config1.xml, backup_config2.xml, and so on. This way, if you ever have to revert to an older configuration state, you can simply rename the appropriate backup_config#.xml file to config.xml and restart the Admin Server. If you make a series of configuration changes and make a mistake somewhere along the way, your Admin Server may not boot up the next time.
