The Node Manager is the critical player in a whole server migration. You must use the Node Manager to start the migratable servers, and you must use it to shut the servers down as well. While the Node Manager does all the actual work during an automatic whole server migration, it is the cluster master that actually invokes the migration. Note that the Admin Server invokes the Node Manager during a manual whole server migration.
