As with any type of server instance, the Oracle WebLogic Server is susceptible to failures, due to a power failure or due to a faulty hardware component. Even if you're running a clustered environment for high availability, you must expect to deal with the occasional WebLogic Server failure. WebLogic Server does offer you several ways to monitor application workload and avoid failures due to an overload caused either by an unexpected spike in web traffic or by resources being maxed out.
