Relationship Between Clusters and a Domain
Beginning WebLogic Server users sometimes find the relationship between a cluster and a domain a bit confusing. Here are the important points you need to remember about how clusters and domains relate to each other:
You always want to configure three WebLogic Server instances in order to create a two-node cluster, with the extra instance being the Admin Server, which should not be part of a cluster.
