So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Tuning Data Sources and Transactions
As far as tuning the database is concerned, the best policy is to work with the database administrators to ensure that they understand your requirements and configure the database accordingly. Database configuration is a vast topic, and configuration parameters may change over time in new releases. For example, if you let the database administrator know the amount of simultaneous users you expect, they can configure the appropriate initialization parameter. Once the database is configured appropriately, you can focus on the configuration of data sources and transactions.
