Unfortunately, too often our perspectives of available perform-
ance technologies are defined by past experiences, glossy market-
ing brochures, or half-hour conference presentations. Try not to
begin the performance improvement process with an “out of the
box” or “one size fits all” solution, since this will impede or stymie
