Conduct Formative Evaluations
Introduction
Formative evaluations allow users, experts, small groups, and
others to take a good look at deliverables prior to implementation.
More than just interim revisions or updates, formative evaluations
are formal processes with specific design and development consid-
erations (see Figure 7.1). During formative evaluation, you can pilot
test performance technologies in the performance environment,
share early products with expert performers, and/or reassess your
development processes. In all cases, formative evaluations will pro-
vide you with essential feedback that can shape later results.
