Desktop View

Each person can customize the QuickBooks desktop for herself. The Desktop View Company Preferences tab is empty, but you can fulfill your every desktop desire with the following preferences on the My Preferences tab—your choices affect no one else who logs into QuickBooks.

Window Preferences

You can keep your desktop neat with only one window at a time or view multiple windows.

  • One Window. If you're not good at multi-tasking or you simply prefer full-size windows, choose the One Window option so that QuickBooks displays only one full-size window at a time, as shown in Figure 6-6.

    Top: Although you can open multiple windows, they are stacked on top of each other so you see only the top one. When you use the One Window approach, you can switch windows by choosing windows in the Open Window List. If the Open Window List isn't visible, choose View→Open Window List. On the menu bar, you can also choose Window and then choose the name of the window you want to display.Bottom: The Multiple Windows option displays multiple windows. In this mode, you can also reposition windows by dragging their title bars or resize windows by dragging their edges and corners.
