Finding Invoices (and other Sales Forms)
If you want to resolve a customer's question about what they owe, it's easier when you have the invoice in front of you. If you don't create many invoices, it's easy enough to open the Create Invoices dialog box, and in the Create Invoices icon bar, click Previous until you find the invoice in question.
However, the Create Invoices dialog box shows only one invoice at a time, which can mean some furious clicking if you must move through hundreds of invoices. There are two easier ways to find invoices (and sales receipts, credit memos, statement charges, and so on). Both methods begin in the Accounts Receivable register, which you open by pressing Ctrl-A to open the Chart of Accounts window, and then, double-clicking your Accounts Receivable account to open its register window. You can scroll through the transactions or search for a specific transaction, as demonstrated in Figure 8-18.
Tip
When you locate the invoice or sales form you want, double-click it to open it in its corresponding dialog box.
Tip
If you like the Find command (page 574), it can't help you search the Description field of an invoice. To make invoices easier to locate, consider adding keywords in their Memo fields.
