This book was written and edited in Microsoft Word on various PCs and Macs. The desktop-software screenshots were captured with TechSmith's SnagIt 7.2 (www.techsmith.com).

Phil Simpson designed and produced the cover of this book, based on a series design by David Freedman. Rose Cassano created the cover illustration with Adobe Illustrator CS. The fonts used for the cover include Adobe's Minion and Gill Sans font families. Simpson designed and laid out the interior of the book in Adobe InDesign 3.0 on a Macintosh PowerMac G5 and PowerBook G4. The fonts used include Formata (as the sans-serif family) and Minion (as the serif body face).

Rob Romano created the illustrations using Adobe Photoshop CS and Macromedia Freehand MX.

Sohaila Abdulali, Katharine Chase, Stephanie English, Michele Filshie, and Dawn Mann proofread the book in PDF files generated by Adobe Acrobat. Sarah Milstein created the index and Caroline Savello cross-referenced the book in Adobe InDesign.

The book was then generated as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file for proofreading, indexing, and final transmission to the printing plant.
