Increasingly, digital printing is used for short-run printing jobs such as brochures, product literature, mailings, and small-circulation magazines. The ability to utilize variable data with digital printing opens up some interesting possibilities for marketing with printed pieces containing content fully customized for individual recipients. Output from high-end digital presses such as the Xerox iGen and HP Indigo often rivals the quality of conventional offset presses. Please don’t think of these presses as giant copiers: They’re most certainly not.
