I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Illustrator Native Files (AI)
Illustrator native files offer several advantages over the traditional EPS files when placed in InDesign. Transparency and blending modes in Illustrator AI files are fully honored by InDesign. Drop shadows created in Illustrator with the Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow method will interact correctly with underlying elements in an InDesign page—unlike Photoshop’s drop shadows. Illustrator objects with blending modes such as Multiply, Screen, or Darken will affect InDesign elements as expected: InDesign and Illustrator speak the same dialect when it comes to blending modes.
