Pantone Goe System
As the number of colors in the Pantone spot color guide books has increased over the years, the numbering system has been forced to expand from three digits to four. But the four-digit colors weren’t added at the end of the existing colors—they were slipped in between existing colors to label intermediate colors that fell in between the older colors. Thus, Pantone 3252 is just a bit lighter than Pantone 325, with just a wee bit more yellow.
