Applying Style Formats

Shapes and Text Boxes can apply already existing formatting styles. Styles are a set of formatting characteristics that can be applied to text, line, and fill formatting.

To apply an existing style to a text box, follow these steps:

  1. Click to select the shape.

  2. From the Format menu, select the Style command. The Style dialog box appears as in Figure 7.4.

  3. Choose text, line, or fill style options.

  4. Click OK to accept your changes.

Tip

To maintain any previous formatting, check the Preserve local formatting option in the Style dialog box. This does not remove any text, line, or fill formatting already done to a shape as you apply a new style.
