A randomised experiment from China suggests working from home actually works.
James Liang, co-founder and current chairman of the NASDAQ-listed Chinese travel agency Ctrip, wanted to find out if optional homeworking was a sensible policy to implement for his 13,000 employees. With the aid of willing researchers from his alma mater, Stanford, a randomised experiment was set up to this effect.
