It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating a Composition
A composition is a timeline-based interface where we do our work in After Effects, and we have to create one before we can get started. The composition to After Effects is equivalent to the sequence in Premiere, the canvas in Photoshop, and the artboard in Illustrator.
Frame Size and Frame Rate
There are two main considerations when creating a composition: frame size and frame rate. Frame size is the dimensions of your video. The standard for high-definition video is 1920*1080 pixels. Frame rate is how many frames per second (fps) your video plays. The two standards for video are 23.976 and 29.976, commonly referred to as 24 and 30.
