The Expressions Menu

After Effects has many preset expressions written out for you, so you don’t need to get bogged down in figuring out syntax. This is another great place to start tinkering.

One of my favorites of these is the Loop function, which allows keyframes to automatically repeat. If I have a shape moving back and forth forever, it’s far simpler to add the Loop expression than it is to duplicate keyframes over and over again—especially if I want to make a change later.
