Mocha
After Effects comes with a free version of Mocha AE, which is a standalone piece of motion tracking and rotoscope software that can be launched and utilized within After Effects. It’s more advanced and “smarter” than the traditional Motion Tracking tools described in the previous section. Mocha is especially useful when you’re having a difficult time getting a good track, in cases where your motion tracking points go off screen or are occluded. It’s also a good rotoscoping tool, sitting somewhere between manual masking and the Roto Brush tool. The only downside is you have to learn a new interface, but if you have the time to do so, read on and get ready for powerful tracking and rotos.
