By now, we already know how to consume packs installed on Cloud Foundry through the cf CLI. What if we want to use a buildpack that is not installed on our foundation? This can be achieved by specifying an external buildpack location through the -b option with cf push.
cf push java-app-name -b https://github.com/cloudfoundry/java-buildpack.git
For example, the preceding command will push an application named java-app-name and force it to download and use the latest buildpack from https://github.com/cloudfoundry/java-buildpack.git.
