Once the buildpack completes the staging, that is, the buildpack plus the result of the compile and release scripts, it creates a final output tarball droplet with a corresponding stack filesystem. As mentioned previously, the filesystem stack name used in this book is cflinuxfs2. For Windows, the stack name will be window2012R2 or the upcoming windows2016. The droplet is stored in an internal blobstore repository on the foundation, which can be configured to be stored externally in an S3 store.
The structure of the droplet is as follows:
