So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Service Registry for application registration and discovery
Service Registry in Cloud Foundry provides applications with an implementation of the Service Discovery pattern, one of the key tenets of a microservice-based architecture. Service Registry is based on Eureka (https://github.com/Netflix/eureka), Netflix's Service Discovery server and client.
To manually configure each client of a service or adopt some form of access convention can be difficult and prove to be fragile in production. Instead, the applications can use the Service Registry to dynamically discover and call registered services:
