Application tasks
Applications tasks are simply applications or script that is run separately from the main application and its instances. The main application is considered a long-running process, while application tasks are short-lived processes. In doing so, this enables administrative/maintenance tasks to run for the application, that is, Principal 10: Administrative Processes. Some tasks include database migrations and batch jobs. Note that the task is only run once in a container for a given application. There is no option to choose which container, as it creates a new container with the application files and runs the intended command.
