Before we talk about building resiliency into the application, let's talk about what Cloud Foundry provides out-of-the-box to make the applications resilient to Platform as a Service (PaaS) outages:
- Cloud Foundry has a built-in mechanism to monitor applications. When an application is pushed into Cloud Foundry, then the number of instances requested during the deployment defines the desired state for an application. If the application is scaled manually, then the new number of instances override the desired state.
