Disposability
As is in the original 12 principles, disposability refers to an application's ability to be started up and shut down gracefully, within both scenarios in a rapid manner. Disposability is a requirement due to the ephemeral nature of Cloud applications. Simply put, an application should be shut down and started up quickly so that it can be ready to handle incoming traffic. At the same time, applications should be shut down gracefully, so that any critical information in an application is not lost or corrupted. For the developer, this places a good constraint on them to ensure that code is efficient for startup and shutdown. In addition, any code that they write should ensure that quick and graceful shutdowns can be achieved.
