From figure 6, we can see a number of things are happening during an application deployment. We can separate this into several phases:
- Manifest read: This phase reads in a YAML configuration file that contains the cf push parameters. By default, the file is called manifest.yml and is included in the same location as your application source. Using a manifest file is optional. Without it, you will need to perform cf push with the application name and any other parameters on the CLI. If the YAML file does not exist, this step is skipped during the deployment process.
- Application entry creation: This phase creates an application record for the given Org and Space for the given current user. At this stage, ...
