In a fully-brokered route service, all incoming requests to applications are, as usual, sent to the Gorouter through a load balancer, which will detect if there is a route service. As per Figure 14, upon detecting the route service, the Gorouter forwards the request to the route service instance attached with the URL forwarding, signature, and metadata headers. The route service instance will complete its task and forward the request back to the destination URL through the load balancer, which will forward the request to the Gorouter. The Gorouter will detect the presence of the Signature and Metadata headers, and so not forward to the route service again, but instead forward to the application:
