15.5.1 PROLIPOSOMES MANUFACTURED USING
FLUIDIZED-BED COATING
Fluidized-bed coating has been suggested for large-scale manufacture of proli-
posomes [68–70]. Nonpareil beads (sugar spheres) were coated with phospholip-
ids and generated liposomes by adding aqueous phase under static conditions [68].
Kumar etal. [70] have prepared bead-based proliposomes by loading drug and excip-
ients solution onto nonpareil beads, followed by drying for coating with an additional
