Figure 2.25 shows the SEM image of the titania thick lm on a cp Ti substrate.
Though the physical inspection with naked eye shows the lm to be extremely uni-
form, high magnication micrograph shows the surface to be somewhat non-uniform
and laced with almost evenly distributed pores. Scratch resistance of the lm is also
excellent, as it does not easily peel off when scratched with a sharp edge. XRD pat-
tern collected on the lm as-deposited on cp Ti plate revealed it to be a mixture of
anatase (ICDD# 21-1272) and beta ...
