the porous network after extrusion. Clearly the extrusion curve doesn’t meet up with

the intrusion curve at low pressures. A high pressure plateau observed for the CPG is

not observed for the Vycor, since the Vycor material contains pores of sizes that are

below the measurement limit of the instrument. During intrusion there are unlled

pores remaining and so the intrusion curve continues to rise slightly rather than com-

ing to a plateau.

There is a scarcity of studies in the literature for pore size distributions in the
