Memory and recall
As a manager you are a juggler, expected to keep lots of balls in the air at the same time. You can use to-do lists and time-management systems to remind yourself of the tasks you have to perform, but at the same time you are expected to remember names, business plans and other critical information. Most of us have a reasonably good memory; we couldn’t function day by day without it. The problem is recall – you know that the information is in there somewhere, but you may struggle to retrieve it.
In this part we’ll look at some simple and effective ways of memorising information to enhance recall.
