HOW UNSTRUCTURED DATA ANALYTICS WORKS
As seen in Exhibit 18.1, unstructured data analytics is a five-step process:

1. Prepare unstructured data for analysis.
2. Apply linguistic statistics and machine learning techniques to the unstructured document before the extraction and the modeling.
3. Extract and model the information from textual unstructured data sources.
4. Convert unstructured text into categories and structure the format for advanced analytics.
5. Transform the data into actionable intelligence to address business challenges, such as fraud detection, financial investment strategies, or consumer sentiment.
