121Your Grab Bag
It is particularly effective to time your rewards so that they are as close as possible to an employee’s positive behaviors, and you can do this in an upbeat and entertaining way by having a grab bag of rewards in your office. When you catch an employee doing a great job, invite him or her into your office, pull out the bag, and let the employee pick a reward.
The bag should contain all sorts of terrific items such as discount coupons, gift certificates, and movie tickets. It should also have a few coupons for some higher ticket items, such as a digital camera or a watch.
