It takes time for new hires to adjust to the company’s culture and truly feel like part of the team. An excellent way to accelerate this process and simultaneously provide recognition is to institute a quarterly lunch that includes all employees hired during the quarter plus the president or a key topsider. The new hires sense a good deal of recognition simply by being invited to a lunch like this, and the recognition is compounded when they actually interact with a company leader during the session.
