It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
2.4. Performance Forecasting or Prediction
Performance managers may want to predict when resources may be saturated on the system. This prediction is based on historical performance of the current application and the current growth rate of the business. This task is often called performance prediction or forecasting. By accurately predicting resource consumption, necessary hardware or software upgrades may be ordered in advance and installed before users complain that performance is degrading unacceptably as the workload naturally increases.
