So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The paint() method
The paint() method is used to render the visualization. It will be called every time the chart should be rendered (for example, when new selections have been made) or when the extension was resized.
It includes two main parameters:
- $element, which is the jQuery wrapper that contains the part where the visualization is rendered
- layout, which stores data and properties for the visualization, including metadata, as mentioned earlier
