Append
Append is the simplest scenario when using incremental loads. Append will only be used when records are not deleted nor updated but only inserted and no comparison in dates must be done. An example of an append scenario is that of a log file where rows are appended but no other operation is performed.
Using the prefix Buffer in the Load statement for this type of scenario is best as Qlik Sense will keep track of the number of records in the QVD file created and will automatically append any new records in the log to the QVD file.
A downside to this approach is that the source file, either a text file or a database table, must not change its format, such as the number of columns, names, and so on, otherwise the Buffer prefix will create ...
