Field API

Namespace: qlik.app.field

The Field API is the interface to all available data model fields within a Qlik Sense app and contains methods for field-level commands, such as the following:

• Selecting values in a field
• Getting available data from a field
• Clearing selections from a field

For example, you can use the following to select all values in the LastName field:

var app = qlik.openApp('c31e2aba-3b46-4b13-8b87-c5c2514dea1d'); app.field('LastName').selectAll();

The added benefit of using the Field API compared to the Backend API is that you can pass selections to dimensions that are sitting outside the context of an object using a HyperCube, possibly even on a different app.
