Dollar-sign expansion in expressions - reading a variable

The same way you can use dollar-sign expansion in the script, you can also use it in the application. To reference a variable in the application that is either created in the script or using the Variable overview menu, you can use dollar-sign expansion as follows:

$(vMyVariable)

In the front-end, this variable will go in the expression of any chart or even dimension. For example, you could create a Text and Image object, and in the expression, you could type the following:

$(vMyAppVariable)

In the previous section, we defined vMyAppVariable to hold the string 'Qlik Sense Application - Sales report' and that is exactly what you will see if you use the dollar-sign expansion.
