本章では、大規模言語モデル（LLM：Large Language Model）の仕
組みを解説します。本書執筆時点で主流のLLMは、共通して
Transformerというニューラルネットワークのアーキテクチャを採用
しています。Transformer ではテキストだけでなく、画像、音声、動
画などの様々なモダリティ（形式）を統一的に扱うことができます。こ
のため、テキストのみ扱うLLMからマルチモーダルLLMに至るまで
TransformerがLLMのコアパーツとして使用されています。本章で
は、Transformerを中心とするLLMの構成とその構成要素の動きをき
ちんと理解することを目的とします。本章では、まず、言語モデルに
ついて説明した後、主要なLLMの構成と、その構成要素となる
Transformerやトークナイザ、サンプリング手法について詳しい解説
を行います。
