So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In a nutshell, FreeBSD is similar to a UNIX operating system. It runs on Intel x86 and Alpha architectures, although there are some efforts underway to create Sparc and PowerPC ports. Volunteers from all over the world develop FreeBSD, and the source code for the system is available free of charge to anyone who wants it.
