So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In This Chapter
NFS, the Network Filesystem, is the UNIX way of performing file sharing. Windows and Mac OS both have their own file-sharing mechanisms, enabling networked computers to access files on remote machines on a LAN as if they were local. NFS provides the same benefits, with a few extra features that other sharing protocols don't have.
This chapter will describe how to configure your FreeBSD machine to operate as an NFS client and/or server, sharing files with other UNIX machines on your LAN or across the Internet.
