I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

A computer that can't do any work is not very useful, and neither is an operating system that doesn't have any applications. FreeBSD has thousands of applications available, ranging from scientific applications that do biological modeling, to office packages, to games. All of the applications covered in this chapter are available for free.
In addition to the thousands of applications that are available natively, FreeBSD can also run most Linux applications. This gives you a very wide variety of applications to choose from for virtually any purpose.
