I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Resource Configuration Scripts
Anything in /etc that has a filename beginning with rc is a resource configuration script, a program that starts up parts of FreeBSD according to the system's configuration. Some are called recursively from other programs, some do nothing in the out-of-the-box configuration, and some will probably never even be run. However, there is only one rc file in /etc that you should ever edit to change system startup behavior, and that is /etc/rc.conf. All the resource configuration scripts that FreeBSD uses are described in Table 11.2.
