I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
StarOffice Office Suite
StarOffice is a full-featured office suite available from Sun Microsystems. It can be purchased on CD-ROM for a very modest cost or downloaded free. StarOffice has features similar to Microsoft Office, Lotus SmartSuite, and so on. StarOffice includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation program, drawing program, e-mail client, HTML editor, and PIM. There is also a database available. StarOffice can be installed from the FreeBSD ports collection under the editors directory.
Caution
If you plan to download StarOffice from the Internet rather than purchase it on CD, be aware that it is about a 95MB download. If you have a modem connection to the Internet, the download can take eight hours or more. Make sure you do ...
