Creating Boot Disks
The FreeBSD CD-ROM included with this book is bootable. If you plan to install on a system that supports booting from the CD-ROM drive, you can probably skip this section. If your CD-ROM does not support booting, or if you plan to install from some method other than from the CD-ROM (such as installing over a network), read on.
If you will install over a network, or if your system doesn't support booting from a CD, you need to create two boot disks.
The boot floppies are located in the floppies directory on the CD-ROM. If you can't use the CD at all (presumably because you don't have a CD-ROM drive), you can also download the boot floppies from the FreeBSD FTP server at ftp.freebsd.org.
