When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Working with Windows
For the most part, working with Windows in Gnome is very similar to working with Windows in Microsoft Windows or Macintosh. There are a few things worth noting however, particularly on the window pull-down menu.
You will notice that there are quite a few more options on the pull-down menu in Gnome than in the pull-down menu in Microsoft Windows. Here are some of the more important ones and what they do:
Delete— Terminates the application in the window normally.
Destroy— Terminates the application with a SIGKILL, forcing the application to terminate ungracefully. This signal cannot be trapped or ignored.
Toggle— Contains a submenu of operations that will be discussed in detail later in this chapter.
Maximize/Minimize— Performs ...
