Deprecation of File Replication Services

In Windows Server 2000, Microsoft introduced File Replication Service (FRS); it is used to replicate the AD SYSVOL folder.

SYSVOL is a folder that contains public files from the domain that needs to be replicated to other domain controllers in the domain. It contains files required for group policies and user logon scripts.

FRS has had lots of issues when it comes to replications, especially performance wise. FRS always replicates the entire file, no matter what kind of changes you've made.
