The following checklist covers all the steps which need to considered for a new domain tree deployment:
- Prepare physical/virtual resources for the domain controller
- Install Windows Server 2016 Standard/Datacenter
- Patch servers with the latest Windows updates
- Assign dedicated IP address to the domain controller
- Find information about AD forest and Schema Admin/Enterprise Admin login details for the existing forest root domain
- Log into the server as local administrator
- Install AD DS role
- Configure AD DS new domain tree
- Review logs to verify the healthy AD DS installation and configuration
